Kit List

To make sure you enjoy your days out with the club use this page to check you've got everything.

Every trip

Every trip will require the following, without exception:

  • Helmet
  • Harness
  • Packed lunch - Sandwiches, chocolate, fruit etc.
  • Drink
  • Suitable footwear - not flip flops
  • Suitable clothing - not jeans!!!
  • Waterproofs

Its likely that you'll be standing around at some point waiting, so a warm fleece/jacket is useful (more information regarding clothes and footwear available here).

Day trips

If you're going on a day trip you will also need the following:

  • Nut Key
  • Belay Device + HMS Screwgate Carabiner
  • Rock/climbing shoes

Weekends away

Weekends away as you can imagine are slightly more kit intensive. Bunkhouses do not have beds and only sometimes have mattresses. Your own kit list may include extras but please be considerate of car space, particularly on busy trips. You will need everything on the above lists and the following:

  • Sleeping Bag
  • Roll mat/sleeping mat - Depending on bunkhouse

Food is bought from a supermarket and cooked at the bunkhouse. Cooking facilities do vary between each place, however a hob is always available (and a kettle for tea and coffee). Plates, bowls, knives, forks and spoons are also available at the bunkhouse so you don't need to bring them.
